Leitrim County Council has upheld planning permission for a North Leitrim telecommunications mast following an appeal.
Eircom Limited were originally granted permission for the 30 metre replacement mast at the Eircom Exchange on Main Street in Kiltyclogher.
The lattice structure would feature antennas, dishes and associated telecommunications equipment, all enclosed by security fencing and would replace an existing 25 metre structure.
The development was the subject of several local submissions including three from local councillors Mary Bohan, Justin Warnock and Sean McDermott.
Issues surrounding proximity to homes, impacts on the visual amenity and possible health risks featured in the arguments against the plans.
Following it's approval by Leitrim County Planners, an appeal was lodged by Councillor Justin Warnock.
The appeal was refused and permission was retained with 6 revised conditions.
They include rulings that no advertisement or advertising structure be located on the mast.
