Leitrim candidate: Councils are dominated by white men aged over 50

County councils are dominated by white men aged over 50 and should be more diverse.

That's according to 22-year-old Adam Ó Ceallaigh, who is set to become the youngest person ever to contest the local elections in Leitrim.

He's running for the Green Party in the Ballinamore Local Electoral Area.

Ó Ceallaigh says he wants to give people the option to vote for a younger candidate next month.
