Laurence Fallon has been elected the new Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council.
The Independent representative, who was proposed by Councillor Tom Crosby and seconded by Councillor Orla Leyden took over the role this afternoon after succeeding Paschal Fitzmaurice in the chair.
Marty McDermott was elected as leas-Cathaoirleach.
