A county Longford centre for people with disabilities has received a largely positive report from the health watchdog.
An unannounced inspection of Battery Court took place in March, the details of which have been published today.
Inspectors found residents enjoying a good quality of life.
Residents were found to access healthcare, employment, education and community activities, with residents speaking positively about the care and support they receive.
The report also highlighted positive interactions between staff and residents, describing relationships as respectful, caring and supportive.
However, inspectors identified a number of areas requiring improvement before the centre can achieve full compliance with regulations.
These included weaknesses in governance and management systems, gaps in risk management, and incomplete follow-up on actions identified during previous audits and reviews.
The report also found that while staffing levels were appropriate, some mandatory training and documentation required updating.
Despite those findings, HIQA concluded that residents were receiving a safe service overall and that their rights, choices and wellbeing were being respected.
