Just one new Garda has been allocated to the Shannonside region following the latest graduation ceremony in Templemore. One Garda has been allocated to Co. Longford whilst no new Gardaí have been allocated to Roscommon and Leitrim.
The Sligo-Leitrim Garda Division is the only division in the country to receive no new Gardaí. Roscommon Senator Gareth Scahill says the resources currently available locally aren't sufficient:

Calls have previously be made for extra Gardaí to be allocated in rural areas of county Leitrim.
