One passenger claimed a route 23 bus skipped their stop, resulting in the customer missing a flight.

Just five complaints were made to Bus Eireann and the NTA over two major local bus routes last year.

Freedom of information figures provided to Shannonside FM news show the complaints for the Route 22 service from Dublin to Sligo and the Route 23 service from Dublin to Ballina.

Both routes traverse the Shannonside Region with stops in Mullingar, Edgeworthstown, Longford, Strokestown, Tulsk and Ballaghaderreen.

Issues with the service's real time passenger information and the reliability of services were one of the main issues raised in the official complaints.

Missed connections due to late buses and non notification of cancelled services were also key issue highlighted by bus users.

One complainant demanded compensation after an incident in November 2022, where they claimed a route 23 bus skipped their stop, resulting in the customer missing a flight.
