The Junior Transport Minister is calling for extra commuter trains between Longford and Sligo.
It's after councillors in Roscommon, Longford and Leitrim said extra morning and evening trains are badly needed.
Tulsk councillor Seán Moylan says people need them for work, college, or hospital appointments in Sligo.
