Wendy will be up for adoption after she has recovered.

The ISPCA are appealing for information after a dog was found abandoned near their premises.

The young female lurcher, named Wendy by staff, was discovered tied to a gate close to the ISPCA National Animal Centre in Kenagh, Co.Longford. The dog was brought to a nearby vet with wounds and sores on her feet, and is described as being thin and in poor body condition. Although the dog is microchipped, the details are not registered, making it more difficult to trace the owner. ISPCA Animal Welfare supervisor, Emma Kealy, says abandoning a dog tied to a gate is not just illegal, but cowardly.
