Gardaí are continuing to investigate the discovery of a suspected explosive device in Athlone last Friday morning.
The device was discovered when Gardaí responded to reports of criminal damage at a house in the town at around 1.40am,
The area was cordoned off and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called in to assist in the operation.

An examination of the scene was carried out and a number of items were removed for technical examination.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
