Over 176 kg worth of meat was discovered at the facility which the FSAI deemed was unfit for human consumption.

Inspectors noted gross spoilage and absence of visible health marks on the two forequarters of a venison carcass, while gross spoilage was reported on 10 trays of bone trimmings, and a 20kg tray of striploin steak was deemed unsafe as the use-by date had expired.

Other items such as roast beef, rump steak, beef ribs, and diced beef had their use by date on the date of the inspection or the day after.

Inspectors directed that the meat would not be used for human consumption and that it would be detained for destruction or disposal under the supervision of an FSAI or Longford County Council officer.

The Prohibition order was lifted on November 27th.
