The scheme provides funding to first-time buyers who are mortgage approved but still cannot cover the cost of a new-build home.

Counties Leitrim and Roscommon will see increases in price ceilings for homes eligible under the First Home Scheme.
The limit has been raised by a further €25,000 for eligible homes, including apartments and self-builds.
Under the scheme, the State takes an equity stake of up to 30 per cent in a new home, in return for providing funding.

Today's report also revealed that over 11,000 approvals have taken place since the scheme began in 2022, supporting almost 6,000 home purchases to date.
