Close to 500 homes and businesses remain without power this morning in the South Roscommon and Athlone areas.
Heavy rain and hail yesterday afternoon caused widespread power outages in the region, with thousands left without electricity across the evening.
The majority of faults have now been repaired, with over 460 homes still waiting the supply to be restored.

Over 360 customers are affected in Athlone, with a further 80 properties reporting outages in Lecarrow and close to 20 at Bushfield near Athlone.
According to the ESB, power may not be restored in some cases until late afternoon or early evening.
