The new Green party representative for the Longford Local Electoral Area says public transport, filling vacant properties and protecting farming are her key priorities.
Catherine Joseph hopes that working with a political party will help her progress sustainable development in rural Ireland.
Ms Joseph says there is huge potential in Longford in terms of the land banks for job creation and investment, but also with a large potential work force within the new communities of the county.
