The Longford Covid vaccination centre is due to open this Thursday.
Appointments for the centre, which is one of the last county-specific facilities to open in the country, have not yet been scheduled by health officials.
There was some confusion reported in Longford on Bank Holiday Monday when several people arrived at the centre in Newtownforbes in the morning believing that they had appointments to receive a Covid jab.

However, the centre was closed with many people left confused and frustrated.
In a statement to Shannonside FM, the HSE says Some people in Longford could have received scheduled appointments for Monday but these would have been for the Athlone Vaccination centre which they claim would have been highlighted in the text.
