House prices see significant jump across the Shannonside Region

Roscommon saw the highest price increase year on year.

House prices in the Shannonside region have jumped over 25 percent on average over the last year.

The Q2 housing report from MyHome.ie shows the annual change in the cost of a 3 bed semi-detached home in each county nationwide.

Roscommon has seen the highest increase in the country compared to quarter 2 2021, with house prices jumping over 44 per cent.

The average price of a 3 bed semi detached in the county stands at €137,500.

House prices in Leitrim have also seen significant growth, with the cost of a similar house up almost 19 percent at €165,000.

Meanwhile in Longford, the same type home has been selling for an average of €116,250, an increase of 16 percent on last year.

Nationally, the price of buying a home has increased by almost 11 per cent in the past year.

However Davy Chief Economist and report author Conall MacCoille says the momentum is starting to slow:
