The new chairperson of the Roscommon Local Community Safety Partnership says he'd like to see more meetings open to the public.
Castlerea Councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice was elected as chairperson at their first meeting in the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon last night.
The partnerships bring together a broader range of stake-holders than previous joint policing committees, and include local residents, HSE and Gardaí.

There will be at least one meeting a year open to the public however Cllr Fitzmaurice would like to see that increased:
