It's hoped new training courses for prisoners nearing release, will prevent them from re-offending.
The Retrofit Skills Course will be piloted in Wheatfield and Midlands prisons from today, with a view to rolling them out more broadly if successful.
Retrofitting is seen as a highly desirable skillset amidst a construction skills shortage.
