Counties in the Shannonside region had some of the highest commercial vacancy rates for Quarter 2 of 2024 according to a new Geodirectory report. Leitrim and Roscommon had the highest vacancy rates in the region at 17.5% and 17.4 % respectively. Of the main urban areas in Roscommon analysed, Boyle had the highest commercial vacancy rate at 27.7% with Carrick on Shannon in Co. Leitrim had a rate of 16.9%.
Meanwhile, Co. Longford saw a decrease in Quarter 2 with the rate now at 14.7% however Edgeworthstown had the highest commercial vacancy rate in the county at 30.2%. Connacht had the highest vacancy rate of the four provinces at 18.3% followed behind by Ulster at 16.7%.
