Investigations are underway after a cat in Roscommon was seriously injured after  what is believed to have been a shooting incident

The feral cat was brought to the attention of the SPCA on Sunday after suffering serious injuries in the Elphin area.

The cat  has significant  chest wounds and an inspection revealed what are thought to be shotgun pellets in its chest.
