Granard students claim success at Junk Kouture competition

The Longford design was chosen from hundreds of entries.

Students at Cnoc Mhuire in Granard are celebrating today following their success at the fashion competition Junk Kouture.

The school was awarded the Creative for a Cause Award at last night's final which was broadcast on RTE 2.

Transition year students Aoibhínn Ginty, Shannon Moran and Leah Hanlon designed, created and modelled a dress made from waste copper wires and cables.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Charmaine Hetherington Art teacher at Cnoc Mhuire says the school is delighted the girl's hard work paid off.
