Semi-synthetic cannabinoid HHC has been classified as an illegal drug. It has similar effects to cannabis and is commonly sold as e-cigarettes or vape pens, or as edible jellies and cakes.
The drug was first detected in 2022 and has been linked with episodes of psychosis and hospitalisation. Its classification as an illegal drug means the import, export, production and possession of products containing HHC are now banned.
