The eviction ban deadline is March 31st

A TD has encouraged people at risk of eviction not to leave the home they're in if they can't find other accommodation.

Mick Barry said people who choose to break the law and not comply with a notice to quit will get support from activists.

The Government decision not to extend the evictions ban beyond this month has been described as inhumane by opposition politicians with Social Democrats Housing Spokesman Cian O'Callaghan predicting a new wave of homelessness

Ministers like Stephen Donnelly says there will be new regulations allowing tenants to have first bid if the home is being sold from under them.

That little comfort to many, with Solidarity TD Mick Barry encouraging people not to comply with eviction notices if they have nowhere to go.

Unease among some in Government too with Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan calling it completely the wrong decision.
