Gerry Hagan to be elected as Longford cathaoirleach today

The Fine Gael representative will replace his party colleague Garry Murtagh in the role.

Councillor Gerry Hagan is to be elected as the cathaoirleach of Longford County Council later today.

The Fine Gael representative will replace his party colleague Garry Murtagh in the role.

A native of Killoe, Cllr Hagan was first elected in the 2019 local elections.

He'll hold the position for one year and will get an allowance of €20,000.
