Councillor Gerry Hagan has been voted as the new Cathaoirleach of the Longford Municipal District.
The Fine Gael representative was appointed to the position by his fellow council members at today's Annual Meeting of the LEA.
The Killoe native and teacher replaces Uruemu Adejinmi in the role with Seamus Butler taking up the position of leas Cathaoirleach.
