Illegal parking at Carrick-on-Shannon Train Station is causing majors issues for pedestrians and those with mobility issues. Leitrim Gardaí are warning motorists who are parking on footpaths in the area, that they will be fined. Local Gardaí have received numerous complaints from residents near the train station regarding the problem.
According to a message issued from the Garda Siochana Sligo/Leitrim Facebook page, such parking causes significant challenges for people with disabilities, parents with buggies and other road users. Leitrim Gardaí confirmed they are policing the issue and will issue fixed notice penalties to anyone found parking in such a way.
