Gardai have launched an appeal for information into the murder of a baby in South Dublin almost 50 years ago.
The body of Baby Noleen Murphy was found in a laneway in Dun Laoghaire in April 1973.
The violent murder of baby Noleen Murphy is shocking and upsetting to recall but her mother hopes she can finally get her baby justice.
Baby Noleen was killed within 24 hours of being born and her body was left in a car park off a laneway in Dun Laoghaire.
Her mother, Cynthia Owen, was only 11 years old at the time and says she had been raped and sold to men for sex.
47 years later, Det Supt Martin Creighton is appealing for information
Cynthia Owen’s solicitor Gerry Dunne says she has been pressing for this public appeal for a long time.
With the passage of time Gardai and Cynthia Owen hope someone out there - listening to this - will come forward and help them finally get justice for Baby Noleen.
