Garda unions are concerned at how new rules around mandatory quarantine will be policed.
The government plans to introduce new regulations allowing gardai to call to people's homes to check they're self-isolating.
The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors is concerned about the health implications, for its members in checking on people self-isolating at home or in a quarantine hotel to ensure they are following rules.
The group say there's been no consultation or instructions to its members, while also noting there will be serious operational and logistical challenges to implementing of the potential regulations.

Meanwhile, there's set to be a clampdown on the number of non-essential cross-border travel to stop people using ports and airports in Northern Ireland to get into the Republic.
Brendan O'Connor is Vice President of the Garda Representative Association - he says there needs to be clear guidelines.
The Government says it is increasing fines for non-essential travel from 100 euro - however it's not clear what the new sanction will be.
