The funeral of Former Longford TD and Senator Louis J Belton will take place today. The Keenagh man served in the Dáil from 1989 to 1992 and again from 1997 until 2002, acting as a Senator in the interim. The 7th member of his family to be voted into Dáil Éireann, Louis J Belton passed away on Saturday following a short illness.
Tributes continue to pour in for the Longford man led by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and numerous former party and Government leaders. Louis J Belton's funeral will take place in St Dominic's Church, Keenagh at 11 o'clock this morning followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium.
