Tributes have been paid to well-known Longford newspaper editor Derek Cobbe, whose funeral took place today.
Mr Cobbe of Gurteenorna, Longford and formerly of Rialto, Dublin, was a former editor of the Longford Leader and then proprietor and editor of the Longford News.
He passed away on Friday last following a prolonged illness and was laid to rest this afternoon in Saint Paul’s Church Cemetery, Newtownforbes.

Mr Cobbe was also a magician,a consultant hypnotherapist and served the community as a Commissioner for Oaths and Peace Commissioner.
