A number of fundraising walks and swims are taking place across the Shannonside region this Christmas day
The GOAL mile is starting from Connolly Barracks in Longford Town at 12pm and Padraig Pearses GAA in Roscommon between 10am and 12pm
Also taking place in Longford is the MS Longford Walk/Run which starts from the hill in Newtowncashel at 11:30am for walkers and 12pm for runners.

While in Leitrim, the Mohill Christmas Day swim gets underway at the Lough Rynn Amenity Centre at 12pm with proceeds going to St Vincent De Paul.
And in Carrick On Shannon, the Christmas day swim starts at 1pm with all proceeds going to the National Council for the Blind and Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
