It's hoped that works can begin soon to allow the classrooms to be ready for the next school term in September

St Teresa's Special School in Ballinasloe has received the go-ahead for two emergency accommodation classrooms to cater for newly enrolled students.

Funding announced under the Additional Accommodation Scheme 2021 will allow for two 60 metre squared classrooms complete with toilet facilities to be in place for the children starting in September.

The school caters for children with moderate to severe to profound needs and is currently at capacity, with ten children enrolled to start in the new school year.
