Funding announced for walking trails across the Shannonside region

The development of walking trails in the Shannonside Northern Sound region will provide a boost to local businesses.

Funding announced today will assist 11 landowners in Cavan to maintain a 26 kilometre walking trail on the "The Cavan Way".

In Leitrim, 18 landowners will facilitate access to the 4 kilometre Arroo Trail.

Nine landowners will be funded to maintain the 38 kilometre Lung Lough Gara Way in west Roscommon, which will provide a link from the Suck Valley Way to Arigna Miners Way.

A new Rural Recreation Officer will be apppointed for Cavan, Ronan Billow has just been appointed in Roscommon.
