Funding allocated for community groups across Shannonside Northern Sound region

Funding of over 1.3 million euro has been allocated for community groups in the Shannonside Northern Sound region who were impacted by Covid-19.

The funding which was announced by Heather Humphreys will be distributed by the Local Community Development Committee.

Cavan has received the highest allocation in the region with 268,514 euro.

In Monaghan, the county has been awarded 265,141 euro.

Longford received 264,769 euro while a further 258,445 euro was allocated to Leitrim .

Roscommon was awarded a total of 266,602 euro, which was the highest allocation in the Shannonside area.

Speaking on the announcement, Minister Humphreys says The Community Activities Fund will support groups with their running costs as well as repairs to their facilities.
