Frustration in Western counties over lack of psychiatry of later life services

There's continued frustration over the lack of Psychiatry of Later Life services for the West of Ireland.

Six roles have yet to be filled for the day hospital service based in the former Rosalie unit in Castlerea.

Minister Mary Butler confirmed to Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane that roles including senior psychologist, senior occupational therapist, consultant psychiatrist and three other roles have not been filled so far.

The service was to replace the residential care setting provided by the Rosalie unit, which closed after a hard fought campaign

Castlerea resident Liam Walsh whose mother was moved out of Rosalie to make way for the new model of care says it's hugely disappointing:
