Former Roscommon school principal found not guilty following trial

The trial had been ongoing at Roscommon Circuit Court since last week.

A former Roscommon school principal has been found not guilty of theft and false accounting following a week-long trial.

Frank Chambers, of Carnacregg, Moylough, County Galway had pleaded not guilty to the charges linked to the operation of a canteen at Roscommon Community College.

The jury found the 58-year-old not guilty on all charges this evening after just under three hours of deliberations

The court heard the alleged offences occurred between 2011 and 2017.
