Former Clondra denim factory site sold for €5m

Hundreds of people were employed at the factory which closed in 1999.

The former Atlantic Mills denim factory in Clondra has been sold for an estimated €5m.

The factory, which has been empty for over two decades, has been bought by the MashUp group, in recent days.

The firm, which is headed by entrepreneurs Andy Byrne and Gina Galligan, bought the company that owned the site, from Amaresco and VE energy

Planning permission was approved in 2020 for a recycling facility to be developed at the former factory, which sits on a 26-hectare site.

The property was previously sold in 2015 to Nama for an €800,000.
