Five million announced to help Athlone and Limerick IT's get Technological University status

Five million euro is being allocated to progress the development of the new Technological University between Athlone and Limerick.

Athlone IT and Limerick IT are to make a joint application for TU designation in the coming weeks.

The allocation is to develop the use of technology and prepare both the Athlone & Limerick sites ready for university status.

It's been welcomed by Independent TD Denis Naughten.
