It's expected that Government may bring the budget forward to September.

The Summer Economic Statement, to be published today, will set out just how much the government will have to spend at budget time, to tackle the cost of living crisis.

The Coalition looks set to exceed its own spending rules, which was originally set at an increase of 5 per cent per year.

There is a growing expectation the Budget will be brought forward to September, with a significant social welfare package on the cards.
