There are almost 15 times more short-term holiday lets available on Airbnb than long-term rentals on Daft.ie across the Shannonside region.
According to new analysis, holiday rentals on Airbnb in Leitrim outweigh long-term rentals by almost 40%.
Airbnb is a site that allows users to rent private residences for holidays or short-term rentals, while Daft.ie provides long-term rentals and options to purchase properties.
Leitrim has the most amount of holidays rentals available at 227 but just 6 are available on Daft.ie, a difference of 37.8%
10% more properties are available on Airbnb compared to Daft.ie in Roscommon, with 153 holiday lets and 15 long-term rentals available.
While Longford has the lowest percentage difference, with 34 holiday rentals versus 8 longer-term.
The worst affected county nationwide is Kerry with almost 100 times more properties available on Airbnb for short term let an there is to rent on Daft.ie.
