The midlands and surrounding regions could be hit by flooding in the next 48 hours.
A status yellow rainfall warning comes into effect at 9 o'clock tonight and will last until the same time tomorrow.
It covers all of Connacht along with Longford, Cavan, Monaghan and Westmeath.
