The former Chairperson of the Longford Joint Policing Committee is hopeful that it can make significant progress on turning around patterns of anti-social behaviour in communities.
Councillor Seamus Butler was among 30 members of the Community Safety Partnership which met for the first time yesterday.
A workshop will take place in November to create sub-committees that will prioritise and progress the key areas of work and report back to the main group.
