The Digital Green Cert and Ireland's involvement in the scheme is being anxiously watched by people who want to travel abroad again without having to undergo a raft of preparations

A decision's due this morning on how the EU will bring in a Digital Green Cert for international travel.

The plans, which would allow for travel across the bloc, were voted on by MEPs yesterday, with the results due today.

The cert, due to be introduced in Ireland on July 19th, would show if a passenger has been vaccinated, tested negative for Covid, or has recovered from the virus.

Irish Travel Agents Association member Claire Dunne says the vaccine passport will take away the stigma of going away during a pandemic.
