Ireland's emergency planning authorities are urging people to prepare for a prolonged spell of heat, with temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees in some parts of the country over the coming week.
They're warning the hot weather could put pressure on health services, water supplies and increase the risk of wildfires.
The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management says temperatures will hit 30 degrees C in some areas this weekend and into next week.
Warm, humid nights are also expected, with temperatures staying above 15 degrees, making sleeping uncomfortable for many.
A Status Yellow high temperature warning comes into effect for 10 counties at 1pm, with a nationwide weather advisory in place until next Friday.
The public is being urged to check on vulnerable neighbours, conserve water, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, and take extra care near water and in the countryside, where the wildfire risk is elevated.
