30 patients are waiting on trolleys while another 20 are waiting in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

Nationally, University Hospital Limerick is the worst affected by overcrowding, with 82 patients on trolleys.

Between January and May of this year a total of 5,172 patients left local hospitals before their treatment was finished.

Sligo University Hospital currently holds the highest number of patients waiting locally in Emergency Departments, with 36 people on trolleys or waiting in wards.

39 people are in the ED this morning, with 25 on trolleys and 14 waiting in other areas.

The hospital is one of the worst effected in the entire country when it comes to continuous overcrowding issues

Today's INMO Trolley watch figures show just 43 people waiting for beds across the country compared to over 100 patients at the end of June.

It's understood all available beds are in use.
