There are currently 8 IPAS centres operating in the Shannonside region. The figures were released by the Justice Minister following a parliamentary question in the Dáil this week. As of January 25th, there are four IPAS centres open in Co. Roscommon. There are also two centres in both Longford and Leitrim.
Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan also provided figures on the amount of people staying in each county as of January 18th. There are 211 people currently staying in IPAS centres in Co. Leitrim. There are 193 staying in Co. Roscommon whilst there are 139 people staying in IPAS centres in Co. Longford.
