The variety of drugs were being sent through the post with labels intended to bypass detection

 

A significant amount of drugs bound for Westmeath have been seized at the Dublin Mail centre.

Over 15kgs of various types of illegal drugs including herbal cannabis, cannabis oil, khat, amphetamine and meth-amphetamine were discovered by detector dog Bailey yesterday.

Revenue officers also seized 750 Zopiclone tablets, 500 Benzodiazepine tablets and 9600 canisters of nitrous oxide, with the combined total worth almost €145,000.

The parcels were declared as items such as 'PPE', 'toys', 'books' 'electronic goods', 'laptop components', 'measuring cups', and 'antique glassware'

The drugs were destined for addresses in Westmeath, Galway , Mayo and Cork.
