Cllr Guckian raised the issue at this month's meeting of the council, claiming the current waiting music was, in his own words 'annoying the hell out of everyone'.

The Cavan and Leitrim Railway from Dromod to Belturbet was first opened in October 1887.

Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents of theft from motor vehicles that occurred yesterday in the Dromod area.

Reduced water pressure can be expected between the hours of 11pm and 8am.

The items stolen include a DeWalt drill and drill bits, a Makita drill and a DeWalt angle grinder.

The event takes place from the 28th of July and the 6th of August.
