Drinking water in Longford is safe to consume according to Uisce Eireann.
The statement follows a number of messages circulating in the community claiming water supplies in the county had been contaminated.
Irish Water have confirmed that no issues have been detected in local treatment plants, with regular testing conducted on the supply.
