Councillor Domnick Connolly has been confirmed as the next cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council.
The South Roscommon politician was elected unopposed at the council's AGM this afternoon.
He was nominated by his Fine Gael colleague, Valerie Duffy, and seconded by Ruth Conboy, also of Fine Gael.

Councillor Laurence Fallon was elected as leas-cathaoirleach.
Councillor Connolly says he's delighted to take on the role.
