Doctors astounded by Longford woman's health a year after terminal cancer diagnosis

The Longford woman has beaten the odds to live a fulfilled life

A Longford woman says her doctors are amazed at how she feels a year after being given less than 12 months to live.

It's almost a year since  Lynsey Bennett was given between 6 and 8 months to live after discovering cancer had spread throughout her body.

In February of this year, she settled her High Court case against the HSE and the laboratory involved in her missed cervical cancer diagnosis.

Shortly afterwards the Killoe woman travelled to the 'Hope for Cancer' Clinic  in Mexico which she credits with saving her life.

She is now receiving cancer treatment drug Pembro,  and told the Joe Finnegan Show that she feels the best she has in several years.

The mother of two says that when she was in hospital over the weekend her  medical team were amazed at how well she was:
